We've all heard the quote..."Empowered women empower women", but what does it really mean?
More importantly, what does an "empowered woman" even look like?
Let's see if we can dissect this a little bit by highlighting characteristics or "mindset" that make an "empowered" woman EMPOWERED.
1) I think we can all agree that Empowered women either have (or have developed) the courage to stand up for themselves and their beliefs because they operate under the notion..."If I don't, then who will?!" They push the envelope (so to speak) to new heights and new levels.
2) They understand that in order to accomplish something, you must first believe in it wholeheartedly and work tirelessly until you achieve your goal or dream. It is that type of thinking that empowers and encourages other women to push toward their own goals.
3) Empowered women don't let other people's opinions dictate who they are or who they want to become; instead, they make decisions in accordance to who they know themselves to be. However, they are able to be vulnerable while being open to feedback and criticism...taking them as learning curves.
4) Empowered women are not perfect but they will step out there (no matter how long it takes them) to put their stamp on the world. You can say that "confidence" is key but that's because she operates out of her natural gifts, talents and her ability to evolve.
5) An "empowered" woman has taken time to figure out how she wants to live her life and what she needs to do in order to accomplish that. Empowered women, they are not concerned with what others think or what societal norms dictate because they know who they are and have no problem being themselves.
In a world where women have to think about discrimination, sexism and violence, an "empowered" woman continues to pursue her dreams and goals in spite of and despite obstacles that she may face.
What about you, do you feel empowered? Are you empowered?
If so, what will you do with it?
